Alpha Ben Mansaray on Friday received a development award from the Moyamba District Student Union (MoDSU). The union is a unique platform for young people who are born and raised in the district with the focus to bring together those who have attained a certain level of academic height. Among other things, the union seeks to recognize people who have played significant roles in the furtherance of the district through different awards. In this year’s awarding ceremony, it was clear that Ben was one of the people identified to pick an award. The award did not come as a surprise as he has over the years proven to be a renowned development expert who has shown leadership and passion in the field of academia. Ben has also championed modern-day development and led the growth of communities especially Moyamba District and Sierra Leone as a whole. He was nominated for this award because of his significant contributions to fostering development for his people, his commitment to improving the world through his selfless service to humanity, and for leading positive change. Ben's commitment to bringing development to his people, particularly the one that is nascent for community advancement has always been unmatched. His thirst to harness resources for his people has garnered local and international attention. He has previously received several awards for his work, including the Best Student Union President for the Institute of Advance Management and Technology.

At the award ceremony the president of the union, Patrick Ibrahim Sellu, presented the award. In his presentation, Patrick praised Ben's innovative efforts for the district and dedication to making a positive impact on the world.

Saidu a youth in the district was very bold to say, the award was a true definition of Ben’s work. He went on to say, his dedication to finding solutions to some of the district’s most pressing problems has made him a leading figure in the Moyamba District. ‘’I have seen a good number of men who conditioned their entire life to serving humanity but Ben’s works are unique’ he said

However, Ben’s efforts to mobilize resources for his people have made him one of the strongest voices in the Moyamba District. His name is now continuously going up and down on the lips of many including the have and have not.
